One week on

Well it's been a week since I published "Where Are The Bright Sparks?" and it seems plenty of people have downloaded & read it. Still no reviews though :-(

I'm now working on my first proper short story, which will introduce the main protagonists in my, proposed, series of life on a mostly fictional tropical island.

Yes, I know I live on a tropical island, but we all write about what we know, to start with at least. There will naturally be elements and situations heavily based on my experiences, but I promise you there will be a few twists too.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Don't forget you can follow my blog using your OpenID, no I have no idea what that is either!, or by email. Of course I welcome comments too, although I do moderate all comments to keep trolls at bay.

Until next time.

Here goes

I've just published my first "masterpiece" Where Are The Bright Sparks? at Smashwords.

It's free to read online or download.

All feedback will be gratefully accepted, preferably via review at Smashwords.

Welcome to my writing odyssey

I'm male, in my mid-to-late forties, married, no kids, semi-retired .... oh & I live in the Caribbean.

Throughout most of my working life, after completing an Engineering Degree at University, I've been self-employed, primarily in sales-related occupations.

I've been called a nerd, a geek, a charmer, an intellectual, a cunning linguist (I speak two languages fairly fluently and a third badly), a nice guy, a bastard, empathic, self-centred, generous, naive, cynical ... and honeybunch.

Like many people I have harboured a desire to write my “one great novel” before I die. Recently I have had some success blogging on the internet, and this has encouraged me to push my writing further, step by step. I am starting with a very short “flash fiction” story which is a re-write of some earlier musings, followed by a short story which will introduce the main protagonists in a series of novels I hope to complete.

I sincerely hope you enjoy my writing and will follow me on my journey.
